What is a mobile mechanic, and how does Clutch work?
Clutch sends a vetted mobile mechanic to your home or office. You choose the repair, share your address, pick a time, and the mechanic completes the job on-site with upfront pricing—no tow or waiting room.

Which services do you offer?
Common jobs include oil changes, brake pad/rotor replacement, battery replacement, diagnostics, filters, wipers, and routine maintenance. If you don’t see your service, choose “Request a quote” and we’ll confirm availability.

Do you service my area?
We currently serve Chicago and its suburbs, as well as Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. Enter your address at checkout to confirm coverage; we’re expanding service zones regularly.

How much does it cost?
Prices are shown before you book and include parts and labor for the selected service. If something changes (e.g., different part is required), your mechanic will explain the options and get your approval first.

How do payments and receipts work?
A card number is required for holding at booking, but you are not charged until 48 hours after the service is completed. A detailed receipt is emailed automatically.

How soon can I book an appointment?
Same-day or next-day slots are often available. The scheduler shows real-time availability for each mechanic.

Do I have to book online?
No. Call us at (312) 869-2727 to get a quote, book a service, or for general inquiries.

How long does a typical appointment take?
Most oil changes take 30–45 minutes; brake jobs 60–120 minutes; batteries 20–40 minutes. Complex jobs may require extra time—your mechanic will give you an ETA on arrival.

Do I need to provide parts?
No, although you are welcome to do so. Mechanics source new, high-quality parts suitable for your vehicle. If you have your own parts, request a custom quote for your discounted price.

What space or power do you need at my location?
A safe, level parking spot or driveway with enough room to open doors and work around the vehicle. No power outlet is required for most jobs.

Are your mechanics vetted?
Yes. Mechanics are independent professionals who pass background checks and verify experience. Clutch also maintains platform coverage for our operations.

What if the mechanic finds something else wrong?New List Item
You’ll get photos/notes and a clear estimate. No work happens without your approval. You can accept, decline, or schedule it for later.

What vehicles do you work on?
Most gasoline passenger cars and light trucks/SUVs. For hybrids, EVs, or commercial vehicles, add a note at checkout—we’ll confirm availability.

Do you offer warranties or guarantees?
We put our customers first — we offer a full money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with your service. Replacements or re-services are handles on a case by case basis.

Can I use a promo code?
If you have a code, enter it at checkout and you’ll see the discount applied before you confirm.

What is your cancellation policy?
You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment at no charge. Late cancellations/no-shows may incur a fee to cover the mechanic’s time.

Will bad weather affect my appointment?
Light rain is usually fine. Severe weather or unsafe conditions may require rescheduling—we’ll notify you promptly and help you rebook. While we prefer to avoid weather cancellations, there is no charge and a full refund if that takes place.

Can I choose my mechanic?
Yes. You’ll see available mechanics, their ratings, distance, and schedule. Pick the pro that fits your time and preferences.
